Alf was a furry alien from the planet Melmac who crash landed into the Tanner family’s garage. The Tanner family, a suburban middle-class family find him and the furry, arrogant, wiseguy alien moves in with them. And that is when the adventures begin.
ALF was created by Paul Fusco in 1984. He used an “alien” looking puppet that he had in his house, which he used to annoy his family and friends. He wanted to create a television show based on the character.
ALF (an acronym for “Alien Life Form”whose real name is Gordon Shumway) was an interesting character in many ways. While cat, (namely the Tanner’s cat, Lucky) was considered to be ALF’s favorite food, he was indeed known to eat many items that were considered food as well as a number of non-food items.
ALF, an American sitcom aired on Syndication from September 22, 1986, to March 24, 1990. It spanned over four seasons, 99 episodes and later became a television movie in 1996. Many versions of the ALF doll were created over the years and they remain a cherished childhood memory for many.
